The next day, we woke up late and booked an afternoon tour to the Tikal ruins, which are 60 km away from Flores. We decided to take a bus instead of the bikes, as we wanted to see the sunset from one of the pyramids, but we didn't feel like riding at night on the way back. The Tikal ruins are one of the largest Mayan sites in Central America. It was interesting, but I think all in all I prefer Palenque to it.
