Day 41 - Agua Azul and Misol-Ha - Palenque MX

The third and last day in Palenque was an easy going one. We woke up around 10 am, and since Mihai was starting to feel better, we took off to check out two waterfalls sites. First, we drove 60 km back towards San Cristobal, to a site called Agua Azul. The name is self-explanatory in Spanish, meaning ''blue water''. Pretty cool spot, although the water was a bit chilly to swim in.

On the way back from Agua Azul, we stopped by the Misol-Ha waterfalls, which are only 16 km away from Palenque. It's a nice site, but not that impressive neither, especially if you've been to Niagara previously. Someone later told me that some of the scenes from the original Predator movie were shot here.

Soon after we got back to our hotel, two more riders rolled in on a pair of Kawasaki KLR 650's. Melissa and Derek from Seattle are heading to Argentina as well. Later in the evening we hung out together at the hotel and exchanged some travel stories over a few beers. It's very likely that we will see each other again down the road, as they are also planning to stop in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, to take some Spanish classes for a week or two.
